Scripture: Luke: 23:46
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said this, he gave up the ghost.
Testify:
One of my favorite Albums is Johnathan McReynolds Make Room. On one of the songs, he describes a roller costar ride. The feeling of the ride depends on the type of rider you are. When you’re a cool rider, he says, that you feel all of the drops and feel all of the feels more than when you throw your hands up and let go. That suggest to me that in this thing called life, there will be some things that will be too heavy for you to carry, so why not move some stuff over. Clean out the clutter and let some things go. How are you handling this ride call life, are you keeping it so tight that it hurts, or are you letting go.
Edify:
In this text, Jesus was absolutely feeling all of the feels. Before he let go, he commended his spirit into God’s hands. Jesus trusted his father so much that he did it without any question or doubt. This is the kind of trust God wants from Christian believers. Jesus wants us to trust him without questioning or doubting his assignment for our lives. As we continue in our faith walk, no matter how difficult the assignment God has placed on your life, continue to commit and surrender to his will. So why wouldn’t we take Jesus’ example. Cry out to God, cause he’s listening. Commit the situation to him, because he can handle it. Then simply give it up to one who can has all things under control.
Apply:
Completely surrender to God’s will for your life and don’t allow doubt or fear to get in the way. Be the type of rider that’s willing to Let GO!!!!
