Scripture: Philippians 3:10-11 MSG
“I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself. If there was any way to get in on the resurrection from the dead, I wanted to do it.”
Testify:
I am going to start off with a prayer
Dear Heavenly Father - I pray that I may truly know you for myself. I desire to experience your supernatural power that raised Jesus from the dead. I want to feel my share of suffering as you did for me. Thank you, Lord, for your sacrifice thru the cross. Endow me with the strength to endure every trial and tribulation that comes my way so I may too be able to rise up in you. I take this moment to breathe in the VICTORY you already gave to my life. Allow me to have the patience to embrace this moment so I don’t miss any opportunity to praise you. I seal this prayer with intentions. In Jesus name. Amen.
Edify:
Paul wrote this letter of gratitude, humility, and joy while he was imprisoned. The main purpose of this letter was to continue to encourage the Philippian church to emphasize the importance of living a life worthy of the gospel. Not a passive observer but as a participant in his truth. To be transformed into the image of Christ. That is why I needed to start this devotional off with prayer. We need to do the same thing give up all of the little or inferior stuff so that we can know Christ. But not only know him, but to be resurrected with him. We need to be willing to let some things die.
Application:
Sometimes you have to encourage yourself, speak a word over your life, and get on your knees and do a war cry. Afterall, these things are a part of our journey. Seek to know God intimately so you may get the chance to experience the supernatural power that raised Jesus from the dead.
