Scripture:   Colossians 2:12 (NIV)

Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Testify

One of the greatest and often most difficult things to do is to trust in the working of God. As I grow closer to Him, my trust deepens, and my faith grows stronger. I remember a time when I was struggling with my rental apartment. It had become so unbearable that I dreaded going home each day. It was a depressing situation unlivable, even. Eventually, I ended up in court to request an early termination of my lease. In the midst of that chaos, I heard the Lord clearly telling me to begin the moving process. The only problem was, I had no idea where I was going. But I trusted God. I had 30 days to find a new place, and by faith, I started the journey. God walked me out of that dead place and into a brand-new apartment one that was built from the ground up, and I was the very first tenant.

That experience reminded me of who I belong to and what I believe. My faith took me from a place of despair and uncertainty into a life filled with peace and provision. It was nothing short of resurrection from a situation that was draining the life out of me into one that now supplies all the needs for my family.

Edify

Colossians 2:12 tells us that we have been buried with Christ in baptism. When we publicly declare our faith, we proclaim our union with His death, burial, and resurrection. This means we are hidden in Him and covered by His grace. The mysteries of God are revealed only to those who believe. And belief requires radical trust, without borders. It requires us to rely not on what we see, but on the character and power of God. Just as Jesus did when He rose from death into life, we too are invited to experience resurrection in our lives not just spiritually, but in every area where death tries to take root.

Application

Are there areas in your life that feel dead or hopeless? Take time today to journal and pray over them. Ask God to resurrect what’s been lost or buried. Surrender your fear and dare to believe that the same God who raised Jesus from the dead can breathe new life into your circumstances.
