DON’T LET HIM FOOL YOU
Scripture: Psalm 18:39 (NLT)
“You have armed me with strength for the battle; you have subdued my enemies under my feet.”
Testify:
Warfare doesn’t always show up loud; it can creep in disguised as exhaustion, isolation, or even what feels like “rest.” I thought I was just laying low, but that stillness turned into complacency, then stagnation, and finally, straight-up spiritual heaviness. I didn’t realize the enemy had slipped in through cracked doors I didn’t even know were open. I found myself battling spirits with real names: fear, lust, laziness, doubt, discouragement—not just passing by, but trying to take root.
At first, I wasn’t fighting back. I thought it was just a dry season. But, baby, what I called slow had become stuck, and that’s when I knew this wasn’t rest—it was warfare. So, I pulled up in the Spirit. I started praying, fasting, interceding, speaking life over myself. And as I did, the weight began to lift. Because the enemy, he has no real power—only what we let him borrow. He’s weak compared to my Father.
The Lord lives in me: my rod, my staff, my backup, my weapon, my everything. So when I felt that shift in the Spirit, I told the enemy, “Hello? What’s up? You pulled up to the wrong one.”
Edify:
Let me tell you something straight: the enemy’s biggest trick is getting you to forget who you are—and who your Father is. He wants you silent, still, paralyzed. He’s not always going to come swinging; sometimes he just wants you tired enough to stop fighting.
But the Word says, “You have armed me with strength for the battle.” That means you’re not unprepared; you are not empty-handed. You are fully equipped. The problem is, we often try to fight in our own strength, and it wears us out. We forget that our power comes from the One who already won.
When the devil pulls up, he’s not challenging you—he’s challenging the God inside you. And that God? He doesn’t lose. He subdues enemies. He tears down strongholds. He floods the atmosphere with power the second you open your mouth in prayer. So, next time the enemy steps up, don’t flinch. Pull up in the Spirit and let God do what He does.
Apply:
This month’s devotional is your wake-up call: it’s time to put them dukes up—the Word of God. Pull up on fear and remind it who you are. Pull up on discouragement with declarations of truth. Pull up on those strongholds with Scripture and intercession. Pull up on that old version of yourself that said, “This is too hard,” and show them how far you’ve come. You don’t fight alone. You’re armed. You’re backed by Heaven. And every demon trying to take you down has already been put under your feet.
