For Such A Time As This

Scripture: Esther 4:14 NIV  

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Testify:

There are times I just want to be left alone—I’m tired. I’ve had a long week. People around me are driving me bonkers, and boom! I look at my phone, and there are several messages and missed calls from a friend. Something’s wrong, for sure, but I’m so tired. I still have things to do, deadlines to write, and a husband who needs cuddle time. Calling her back is just one more barrier between my bed and me. But then, I feel something in my heart telling me I need to call her back. I need to Pull Up! I need to show up, and sometimes I just hate that voice within me, but I promised that I would always Pull Up for her, no matter what. I called, and yes—she needed me.

Edify:

In Esther 4:14, it says, “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” What I love about the story of Esther—and this scripture—is that, despite a considerable threat to her family and an awareness that a decree had been set to kill her people, Esther quickly Pulled Up. Esther recognized that she had been placed in her position to win the king's heart for a purpose. Given her status and the history leading up to this point, she was well-equipped to not only influence the king’s decision but also to draw on the bravery that God had instilled in her. She was able to Pull Up with confidence, and she started planning how to pursue it for the sake of others' safety.

Apply:

God has placed you in this position for a purpose. When you start to feel unqualified, ill-equipped, or simply tired—pull up on yourself. Ask God to reveal how He plans to use you in this circumstance, and He will. He has placed you in this moment for such a time as this.
