I’m More Than
Scripture: Romans 8:37 NIV
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Testify:
I have spoken several times about my divorce being one of the most difficult times in my life. I felt lost. I felt alone. I felt like a failure. I felt disappointed. So many emotions, and none of them were positive. The only thing that I knew for sure was that the decision that I had made was the right one for me. I knew that I could lean on God, but I also wondered what was taking him so long to mend my broken heart.
Edify:
Romans 8 is filled with reminders of Gods love for us. It is filled with light, hope, future glory, and reminders of the unbreakable bond with him. Romans 8:37 tells us that no matter what we go through, we shall be victorious in the end. I cannot remember the exact moment that I started feeling better after my divorce. Maybe it was not one moment, but a series of moments and time that passed. I do remember that I had a decision to make. I needed to decide if I was going to die, just exist, or live! I chose life! I replaced the crying nights sitting on the floor at my bedside with learning who I was as a person and growing spiritually. I had made a life changing decision, and now it was time to PULL UP and remember that I was and am a child of the Most High. This was the first time that I was able to be just Shantell. Not someone’s wife or mom. I had the chance to make my life what I wanted it to be and live like God intended for his children to live.
Apply:
Children of Kings don’t live in sadness. They don’t live in lack. They don’t live in fear or worry. Whatever is going on in your life right now, I guarantee that you have every tool you need in this very moment to overcome it. You don’t need more money, a bigger platform, nicer clothes, a new car or a life partner. You are more than a conqueror. So, PULL UP!! Fight your battles like you are a child of a King. You are not here just to survive – you’re victorious through Christ.
