Scripture: Luke 18:38-40 MSG
“He yelled, “Jesus! Son of David! Mercy, have mercy on me!” Those ahead of Jesus told the man to shut up, but he only yelled all the louder, “Son of David! Mercy, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and ordered him to be brought over. When he had come near, Jesus asked, “What do you want from me?”
Testify:
I remember the time I needed healing from a best friend that I lost. I was in pain, I felt hopeless, guilty and ashamed. These feelings lasted for 3 months. I prayed, I cried out and God listened. The Lord came to me in my sleep, took me through the most life changing dream and snatched every emotion that wasn’t of Him out of me, and I got to watch it happen in my dream. I woke up healed and immediately told all of my friends what God did for me. I couldn’t even cry when I tried, he replaced my grief with joy. I experienced a miracle.
Edify:
This story is talking about the blind man who heard from his cousin that Jesus was passing by. The blind man did not see him but started yelling his name. The people that were before the blind man and even the ones with Jesus was trying to get him to shut up. Not only did he not listen but he cried out even louder. He had a need, and it had a name. These discouraging people can represent our thoughts or the people around us who try to shut us up. They are trying to stop us from using the power that God gave us to speak out in faith. Shut up the noise and speak, not just out of our mouth but into our healing and deliverance. The power of the tongue can save, heal, and glorify God just as it did for the blind man who received his miracle. He made his request known in verse 41. Verse 42 it was granted by the Lord and verse 43 was an immediate miracle. What verse are you in?
Apply:
Ask yourself these questions, am I carrying blind man faith in all of my situations? Have I continued to cry out despite the noise? Have I made my request known in faith? What verse do you choose to live in?
