Scripture: Psalms 46:10 NLT
“Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
Testimony:
I was on a job where I had a five-year plan to work until my daughter graduated high school. In the first six months I was regular staff and moved up to assistant manager for one year and a half. I finally became a manager and held that position for a year and a half, and in few months before my fourth-year things started to shift. The atmosphere at work became toxic with my colleagues and managers. They stopped working together and lost focus on our missions. Our client’s well-being and needs should always come first. This environment became mentally and physically draining. I had to seek God for clarity on what to do and how to handle the situation. God had me to BE QUITE and not move in self. He reminded me what I was there for in that season, and that was to get all the information I needed to learn so I can apply it in my next season.
Edify:
“Be still” is not just about a physical stillness, it’s about being still while in the midst of struggles and circumstances without trying to control outcomes. It can mean to let go of your grip and let God. “Know that I am God" is a call to acknowledge God's divine nature and power, for a deeper understanding and trust in God's plan and purpose. The rest of the verse says, “I will be honored by every nation I will be honored throughout the world”. This highlights Gods authority over all people and believers. God's plan will prevail, even when it may not seem evident in this moment. Therefore, my plan that I had for my job was not his plan. I had to quiet my ambitions to honor his will.
Apply:
When it all comes down to our trials and tribulations, we need to lean on our faith that God’s plan will get us through. By seeking him for clarity and understanding we learn how to move forward. Staying in the word and prayer is our phone line so we can hear him for direction.
