Scripture: Proverbs 21:23
“Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.”
Testimony:
I used to live by the montre of “Murphy’s Law”, which suggests that if something can go wrong, it will. I spoke things into the atmosphere for the enemy to take it and wreak havoc in my life. I was unaware that I was supplying the ammunition for the devil. I made it easy for him to keep me bound based on what I spoke. I thought I was hiding from the enemy, but I was really revealing my own strategy while battling myself. I kept asking why it is so easy for him to spot me and how does he know what area to attack? One day when asked to speak, and the Lord began to challenge me about the words that I spoke out of my mouth. He challenged me to change my conversation. I immediately told myself “Girl shut up”!
Edify:
It was when God came to me with an encouraging word, that I realized how, where, and why the enemy was defeating and distracting me. I had to close my mouth and change the narrative of my conversation. God let me know that all things do not deserve commentary! He instructed me to cast my cares in prayer then leave it there. This scripture was just for me, guard your tongue and keep yourself from calamity. Shut up and have more peace. When we listen to God’s instruction, he removes, heals and delivers. His secret place is the best place to get quiet!
Apply:
Victory and change came when I began to change the narrative of my conversations. I began to speak healing and deliverance. I started speaking in faith not just with faith! I had to speak life into the places that were dead! I had to be quiet for a season until I changed my speaking habits. Today starts the day that you put your hands over your mouth and let your SILENCE be HEARD….
