Scripture: Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Testify:
I’ve learned the hard way that I can talk a move of God to death. When things start to feel shaky, my instinct is to jump in advising, explaining, or even over-praying out loud. If I’m honest, most of the time I’m not just being faithful; I’m trying to control the outcome. I want to feel like I’m the one steering the moment, but in reality, my words can get in the way of what God is trying to do.”
Edify:
Zechariah 4:6 was given to Zerubbabel during the overwhelming task of rebuilding the temple. Progress looked impossible, resistance was real, and human momentum wasn’t enough. God cut through saying: This won’t be finished by human muscle or management; it will be done by My Spirit.
That word still speaks to us. We humans love might and power. But Kingdom breakthrough flows from Spirit, not strain. We live in a culture that glorifies what can be seen, counted, and measured. Might is the muscle money, resources, manpower, strategies, and connections we think will get things done. Power is our personal ability our charm, skills, cleverness, titles, or even the noise we make to prove a point. We lean on these because they make us feel in control. But the Kingdom of God doesn’t operate on the same currency. God often bypasses the strongest voices, the biggest platforms, and the most polished plans. He doesn’t need our human “might” or “power” to accomplish His will. He just needs a willing vessel.
Apply:
When we fill every gap with our words, we sometimes crowd out the move of God we’re begging to see. Say this out loud: I don’t have to run the miracle. I will hush, step back, and make room for the Spirit of God.
