Scripture: Daniel 12:4 KJV

But Thou oh Daniel, shut up the words and seal the Book.  Even to the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased.

Testify:

I’ll admit there was a time I couldn’t hold water, and I would talk and release information that was never meant to be heard.   I can’t take any of those times back now and I wish I had just shut up!!! Now as a mature Christian, I see how important it is to have self-control and discern what and when to release.  There is an appropriate time given for all things, even your words. This principle is true for all people and does not exclude any position.  A lot of times people get caught up in the title or gifts and feel that they can say whatever they want. They forget these gifts come with responsibility and wisdom.

Edify:

As the Lord’s return approaches and many turn away, it is vital to maintain a direct connection with God for guidance on when to speak and when to remain silent.   The Lord's timing is perfect, sometimes delaying a message until the recipient is ready to hear it.   In this scripture, God gives Daniel a prophesy, then tells him to seal it up or put it away.  In the message bible he says this is a confidential report for Daniels ears and eyes only.   He says that it will be an appointed time to release it.  Many individuals will be searching for the answer that Daniel has already obtained.  Therefore, if God can tell Daniel to seal up his lips, he can defiantly say the same thing to us.   No matter the title.

Apply:

As we put on our whole armor of God and develop an ear to hear.  Let us develop the skill to be slow to speak.  We must watch as well as pray so we can be used by God. Let’s remain sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil is seeking to devour us. Let be mindful of what we speak and put down self for the work of the kingdom. Learn to be quiet and listen to what God is trying to say.
