TeaTime Devotional July 28th, 2025

Written By:        Kiki Nixon

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:7A time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak.

Testify:

I’m sure we can all testify to a time where we talked out of turn or even had moments where we wish we spoke up. In my current season this is something I find myself battling constantly. Having to discern often takes more time than I want to spend and can be taxing on my mind. Being someone who labels myself a “open book” or “over sharer” this has been tough for me to navigate, because I don’t only have to discern what to say, but also what not to say.   Information in the wrong hands whether good or bad, true or false can be detrimental to all parties involved.  I also have to realize and learn that what I was able to share with people in times past does not mean I can share things in all seasons of my life.  This is a lot……

 Edify:

This verse reminds us that life flows in seasons, each with its own divine purpose. There will be moments when things must be broken—relationships, routines, or even our own pride—so that healing and restoration can follow. Silence is not weakness, it’s wisdom. There are times when the most powerful thing we can do is hold our tongue, listen, and wait on God. And there are times when we must use our voice to speak truth, love or encouragement. Knowing when to be silent and when to speak is not just emotional intelligence it’s spiritual discernment.  This scripture, like my testify, is a lot.

Apply:

As we get closer to God, may we seek God’s guidance to recognize the season we’re in and respond with wisdom, patience and grace.
