Scripture: Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV)
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth."
Testify:
In late October 2014 my family dynamics shifted to an era which was extremely traumatic for my household. To this point I get teary eyed thinking about all that we endured during that time. The youngest child was a senior in college where we were faced with senior dues and fees here and there. I remembered being so torn that I couldn't even speak without constantly crying. I was faced with a challenge that made me have to carry my whole household on my shoulders. Not knowing how I was going to make ends meet and facing all that I had thrown at me, fear had settled in, and I became fretful. I found myself praying more than I ever did before. I started my day off with my church's 6:00 am Prayer line, and all throughout the day I would pray. I continuously quoted scriptures to myself, of which I knew by heart to encourage me spiritually. Scriptures like 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and of a sound mind." And Psalm 121:1-2, " I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." I am a Living Testimony that no bills went unpaid, actually every bill including the mortgage was not only paid in full, but extra monies was put on all the bills. Senior dues, fees, pictures, cap and gown, etc. was ALL PAID IN FULL!! My faith was stretched beyond measures, and the only help I knew, trust, and believed in was God.
Edify:
Psalm 121:1-2 is a declaration of faith, expressing reliance on God for the very foundation of help and protection. The Psalmist looks to the hills, a symbol of stability and strength, and recognizes that his ultimate source of help is the Lord, the creator of all things.
Apply:
In spite of trials, tribulations, obstacles, the juror’s verdict, the doctor’s diagnosis, or the naysayers gossip. ALWAYS place your Trust in God. He's not far at all, actually he is right there waiting for his child to recognize that he is the source of all of our needs, and the ONLY one who will protect US from harm. We as a people can sometimes be our own hinderances in circumstances and situations. But if we get out of our own way, and STRETCH our Faith, you will be amazed at how far the Elasticity will go.
