Scripture: Psalm 119:32 ESV
“I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart!”
Testify:
Here is my confession. Yall, I’ve been idle this week and immediately was reminded of a previous devotional, where I discussed not getting stuck in a low spiritual space. I was reminded of my need to monitor my spiritual health and my deficits. I had to confess to where I was, acknowledge that I was complacent and allowed the enemy to distract me. I needed God to live in my dangerous complacent space. As I poured out to Him, HE CAME & MET ME right in my car. He showed me how my physical and spiritual health was in the negative. I had to do the work and be intentional in my prayer closet by talking to God about everything and taking the time to listen to him. I also needed to exercise my physical body as well since physical and spiritual health goes hand in hand.
Edify:
Psalms 119:32 specifically speaks about going in the direction of God’s commandments with an expectation that God will stretch or enlarge our hearts. A review of Verse 25-40 is about being honest of life’s struggles and admitting where these struggles are in your life. Desiring to live according to God’s way and making a hard choice to obey is no easy task. God will meet you where you are. Never give up your pursuit to obey because He’s stretching you every time you run toward Him. You have no idea how far you’ve came and how much more the father wants to stretch you.
Apply:
So, truly acknowledge where you are right now. Ask God to clarify and reveal your faults. Surrender those faults and let Him minister to you. Then, run toward him and watch him enlarge your heart. Lord, increase my capacity & stretch my heart.
