Scripture: James 1:2–3 NIV“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
Testify:
I’ve been stretched in every way you can think of emotionally, mentally, spiritually. From motherhood to just surviving life’s curveballs, there were moments I felt like I would break. But instead, God used that stretch to grow me. I’ve learned that when I reach my limit, that’s where His strength kicks in. The stretch taught me how to trust Him for real, not just with words, but with my whole life.
Edify:
James 1:2–3 isn’t just a call to rejoice it’s a reminder that our trials are doing something. They’re not wasted. Every stretch, every hard place, is producing real faith. When I look back at my own seasons of stretching, I can see how God was building endurance in me, not breaking me. That’s why James tells us to count it joy not because it feels good, but because it’s working for our good. God never stretches us to snap us He stretches us to shape us. James 1 reminds us that trials grow our faith and endurance. Stretching is uncomfortable, yes, but it’s also necessary. Every challenge expands our capacity to carry what we’ve been praying for. What feels like a breaking point might actually be God building your next level of strength and wisdom.
Apply:
If you feel like you’re being stretched right now, don’t resist it lean into it. That tension is making room for transformation. God is working even in what feels too hard. He’s not trying to hurt you He’s getting you ready. Let Him stretch you. Growth lives on the other side.
