Scripture: Isaiah 51:13 (NKJV)
And you forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth; You have feared continually every day Because of the fury of the oppressor, When he has prepared to destroy. And where is the fury of the oppressor?
Testify:
I remember when my son was younger, I would reach out to his father for financial support, and he would always give me a hard time. I remember praying and asking God to put me in a position where I didn’t have to rely on my son’s father for help, and if he did help, it would just be extra. I stretched my faith and guess what God did just what I asked. Now let’s look at the state of our country. People are walking around fearful and uncertain about their future. They are seeing the very programs that they depend on to survive being cut by the very people they voted in office to work on their behalf. This is done in greed without any regard of its impact on the very ones that rely on the programs.
Edify:
In this scripture God is reminding his people that they should not look at what the enemy or the oppressor is doing. The saints of God should never forget the great things that God has done for his children. Did you forget when the Lord stretch out the sky and laid the foundation. Do you know how Big, how Strong, and how Mighty our God is. God wants his people to remember him for he is the one who can supply one’s every need. God does not want us to rely and depend on those in authority more than we depend on him. The same way that God supplied for my son is the same way that he will provide for this country.
Apply:
In these uncertain and trying times, I know it may seem scary, don’t be discouraged. Just look up and stretch out your hand to God the creator. He is the only one that can and will bring you through.
