Scripture: Matthew 12-13 NLT
“Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So, he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.”
Testify:
Sometimes I find myself second guessing when the Lord speaks to me which causes me to miss out on my blessing or postpone my blessing. I’m learning to just put my faith in Jesus and believe that his will shall be done even if I don’t know how. I remember before I moved out of my mom’s house. I was applying to apartments and wondering how I was going to manage it being a single parent. I contemplated very hard and had a lot of doubts about how it was possible without struggling. Eventually I put all my trust in God and was given the opportunity to move into a place close to my mom that was income based. It’s funny because when I first applied to this apartment complex I was denied due to making too much money. The second time around I just made the threshold to make it. As I continued to trust God through this process, he has continued to bless me. I am not only making ends meet but am also able to have extra left over to enjoy things with and for my daughter as well as myself. I have also been able to secure a position where I’m making more than what I was making when I was denied this apartment the first time I applied. What I’ve learned from this experience is to trust God and believe he will never give me something or put me in a position to fail.
Edify:
In this verse, God healed a man with a shriveled hand in the synagogue on the Sabbath Day. Even though the Sabbath was a day of resting for Jesus. This verse is speaking to me and telling me to be obedient to Jesus and to not question him when he’s giving me a command despite if I have doubts. In this verse, I’m imagining if the man had been disobedient when Jesus told him to stretch out his shriveled hand. I bet if he asked Jesus why instead of just doing as he said, he would have not healed him. He still healed all those who were in need, even though the Pharisees thought it was unlawful. As I consider my doubt in him at times, I find it amazing that God will go through whatever it takes to make me whole again.
Apply:
Jesus will never stir me on the wrong path. He knows my destination and outcome before I do. If I trust in him and follow his command everything that I am seeking will prosper. All I need to do is stretch out my hand to extend it to Jesus and he will carry me through.
