Scripture: Isaiah 58: 6 & 11 KJV
Is not this the fast I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water whose waters fail not.
Testify:
Now ladies, I know we all can relate to trying to find the time and perfect fast to bind and loose some things. I personally find it hard to fast myself, especially after working all week with overtime. I can sometimes feel the heaviness from the weight that I carry. Even in this, I can still feel that God is trying to stretch and tug at me to do something more than working more hours and remaining in the same bind.
Edify:
When I looked at this scripture I immediately started to stretch, I felt God reminding me that this is another promise from Him to be released from heaviness. When I read more of the chapter, I realized not only will I be free of some stuff, but I’ll also be able to build, repair, restore and delight myself in the Lord as I gain my inheritance! This is from the mouth of the Lord. I feel that when we find it hard to pray and fast think about this scripture. The first thing that he promises is the loosing of the bands of wickedness. In this God will begin to lift the heavy burdens and free us from whatever is in the way of his will.
Apply:
When you feel like you’re being defeated or losing focus, try to incorporate fasting into your situation. This will help you to gain control that God has you the authority to have. There’s another scripture that comes to mind that says “some things will only come out by fasting and praying “(Mark 9:29). So, be mindful that when we are stretched and begin to fast and pray, God will see us and deliver. Amen!!!
