Scripture: Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Them you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Testify:
One of my favorite Pixar movies is The Incredibles. I love how each member of this family has a superpower. Jack-Jack is so talented that he can light on fire. Dash can move like the speed of lighting. Violet has a power to form force fields that can be used to protect from harm. Mr. Incredible is the strongest man alive. But his wife, Elastigirl, has the ability to STRETCH herself into a multitude of different positions. Depending on the situation, she could contort her body in efforts to get whatever job assigned done. Then can transform back into her fit, trim and curvy physique. She must be built with the same material as our skinny jeans or Spandex. As I thought about the character in the movie, I began to ponder our ability to contort, transform and conform. I can speak for myself when I say, I don’t like the pain that comes with being stretched. I sometimes get annoyed with the process and the dedication. I know that its working for my good, but it don’t always feel good.
Edify:
How flexible or elastic are you? Do you bend into shape easily or do you have to be broken into position. The scripture says don’t be like the world, but let God transform you. I can therefore imagine that God needs us to become flexible enough in him that when trials or tribulations come, we can take on powers like Elastigirl (Figure and all) conforming and transforming in order to give glory to God. Our theme for the Brunch this year was Stretch Sis, Stretch. I hope that since the then, with every mountain and valley experience; with every win and lose situation, everything in our past and the present, that you have found the ability to transform with the same effort has Elastigirl. God is calling us to some uncomfortable situations and circumstances, but we have to trust that he has given us the ability to Stretch into that role.

This month, I hope you have your workout clothes on. I’m taking about your spiritual leggings and sports bras, because we are going on a Godly 30-day challenge to get us more flexible. Listen, there will be some discomfort and some pain, there may even be some sweat and tears, but there will also be Glory After This. Stretch Sis Stretch.
