Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:3 NLT
“Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction.”
Testify:
I was chosen by God from the beginning to be apart of his mission of telling the world how to find salvation. This scripture is a warning to my spirit man. I must work while waiting for Jesus second coming. My troubles are being used to develop my spiritual maturity by putting me in daily devotion with him. My daily devotion is preparing me for the great rebellion against God. No matter how evil the world becomes I will not succumb to fear because God is in control. I will allow this warning to revive the flames of my faith to one day be counted as worthy of the kingdom of heaven.
Edify:
Paul wrote to the Thessalonians to restore their hope in the assurance of Christ return. Paul wrote this second letter to clear up any misunderstanding of the second coming. Many thought Jesus was immediately coming back after he was sacrificed on the cross. This confusion caused idle believers; they stopped being productive in God. This follow-up letter described the end of the world and what signs to look out for. He also shared how to prepare for the man of the lawless, better know as the anti-Christ. He and his followers are the ones that will rebel against the will of God. Paul mentions these things to ensure we are truly ready for anything that threatens our faith. No matter how terrible the situation seems. God is in control, and he will be victorious. We must keep our spirits in Revival Mode to endure.
Apply:
During the wait for Gods kingdom let us grow our perseverance and faith by having a daily relationship with him. Don’t serve the lie and remember Gods truth. Judgement day hasn’t come yet. When it does, will you be ready? What mode will you be in? It should be revival mode.
