Scripture: Isaiah 57:15 NLT
The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble.I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.
Testify:
I have been blessed with two mothers. One of them birthed me, while the other one birth my Boaz. My mother in love, is blessed with creativity. She has the ability to take nothing and completely turn it into something. Example, my father in love come to our house and took down an old chandelier. When asked, I said, throw out the old pieces, but my mother said, you can restore this. Next thing I know, she made a centerpiece out of the scraps. It was beautiful. It didn’t look like the old piece that it came from. The word revival means the act of bringing something back to life. The act of restoring or reviving depends on the hands that the broken pieces are in.
Edify:
This scripture reminds me of my mother. The same way that she can restore and bring old scrap back to life, is the same way that our heavenly father can revive us. When we commit our life to the one that is high and lofty, he has the ability to restore the crushed spirit and revive those that have been outcasted. This means, when someone decides that we are damaged good, God can restore. When it seems like you are washed up and not wanted by others, God wants you. When you are broken beyond repair, that qualifies you for a restoration job. It reminds me of the scripture that says “that we are persecuted, but not forsaken, cast down, not destroyed. Girlfriend, you don’t look like what they said about you. You are a beautiful masterpiece, why? Because you have been REVIVED.
