Scripture: Jeremiah 24:7
“And I’ll give them a heart to know me, God. They’ll be my people and I’ll be their God, for they’ll have returned to me with all their hearts.
Testify:
We should be confident in the fact that there is nothing greater than the God we serve! When our lives bring discomfort, trials, death, and oppression, we have to stand on God’s word. I know that this is easier said than done, because we often give into our flesh, emotions, thoughts and impulsive reactions that come with the things we face. You should rest assured that God’s word is true.
Edify:
This is a vision from God to Jeremiah. In it he declares that God is going to do something great for the people that have gone through difficult, lonely and oppressing situations. If we hold fast to God even in the worst times, God will give us a heart (will, strength, or encouragement) to know (learn, connect, and get to know) God, and not only that but also the assurance that God will be with us! God states with assurance that we will be His people which reminds me of the scripture, “if He be for us then who can be against us”! WHO? We have His word that He will be our God (protector, provider, healer, guider, corrector).
Apply:
This application requires work. God stated what He will do for us but there was a stipulation clause! We must learn of Him, by reading, asking questions, and prayer. Then we should trust Him by believing that His word is true, and that He will always be there. Then give Him our entire heart and fight the temptation of doubt and impulsiveness. Pray and ask God to hold and protect our hearts in these times, read a scripture, listen to encouraging music, reach out to fellow believers for help and most of all keep your heart posture toward God.
