Scripture: Ezekiel 37: 4NLT
Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!
Testify:
I love the taste of Chinese Food, especially the rice. I love the combination of the vegetables with the egg and the choice of meat. One day I thought that I would attempt to make the same rice at home. Looking at the recipe and the tutorial on Pinterest, the number one ingredient was OLD rice. That stumped me for a minute, because why would I need something OLD and DRY to make this meal. I thought that this recipe was a lie, so I googled another one, and again the main ingredient was OLD rice. I began to ask myself what is wrong with new rice, and the answer was that the OLD, Dried-up rice has the ability to fry better in the sesame seed oil. I was baffled at how one of my favorite meals was made by recycled goods. I then began to think, Lord is that what you look for in your people? His reply was of course.
Edify:
As I pondered this scripture, best known as the Valley of Dry Bones. I think about how I would have discarded what God decided to recycle. In the Scripture, God brings Ezekiel to a valley that was full of dead things. The residue of death was everywhere as the bones were scattered from here to there. He then asked Ezekiel, can these bones lives? Instead of Ezekiel saying my first response, NOPE. He says Lord only you know. God explains that the power of Life was in his tongue. God instructs him to prophecy to the DRY dead bones. But don’t just say anything, he instructed the bones to listen to the word of the Lord. So, are you telling me that just like that recycled rice, God can make something great out of me? The response is in the proof of the bones. The bones got up and were revived.
Apply:
What are you about to get rid of in your life that is old and dried up? Can I encourage you to not be so quick to discard what God is trying to recycle. Instead of throwing your hopes, your dreams, your relationships or your children away. Let’s prophecy the Word of the Lord to it, and watch it get up.
