Keep Doing It

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT

“So, encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”

Testify:

A while back, I was feeling really down after facing a setback at work. One day, a friend called out of the blue and reminded me of a time I encouraged her through a tough situation. She said my words had inspired her to keep going, and it hit me that sometimes we forget the impact we can have on others. Her encouragement lifted my spirits and made me realize how important it is to support each other. It motivated me to reach out and uplift someone else, proving that a little encouragement can go a long way!

Edify:

Encouragement is a powerful tool in the body of Christ. It strengthens our bonds, fosters a spirit of unity, and helps us grow in our faith. When we actively build each other up, we create an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Think about the impact your words can have. This scripture not only encourages us to build each other up, but it also reminds us to continue doing it. You’ve been encouraging others, so keep on going. You’ve already been praying for others, so keep on doing it. The more we encourage others, the more we will have an army of encouraged souls.

Apply:

Take a moment to identify one person in your life who could benefit from encouragement. Reach out to them this week with a specific compliment or affirmation. Let them know you see their efforts and appreciate them. Also, reflect on how you can create a habit of encouragement in your daily life by setting aside time each week to reach out to others, sharing uplifting scriptures, or finding small ways to recognize the contributions of those around you. As you do this, remember that you’re not only following Paul’s instruction, but also reflecting the heart of God, who continually encourages and builds us up in love.
