The It Factor
Scripture: Philippians 3:12 (NIV):
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”.
Testify:
Remember the game of tag? You’re running and laughing, and suddenly someone touches you: “Tag, you’re it!” In that moment, everything changes. You go from being the one running away to the one with purpose—the one sent out to move and to chase.
When God “tagged” me, He called me not just to do hair, but to carry His presence into every appointment. Every client that sits in my chair is someone God might’ve placed there on purpose. So every time I have a client, I make them feel seen after a bad day, speak life when someone’s down, or simply do my work with excellence and joy. I consider myself “tagging” them with God’s love.
Edify:
Being “it” in spiritual tag means we now carry the mission forward. This means we have to touch others with the same love that reached us. We don’t have to have everything figured out to start running; just know you’ve been chosen, called, and tagged by the One who never stops loving you. Before Paul ever thought of pursuing God, Jesus already reached out and called him. The same goes for us: God “tags” us with His love, grace, and calling. Once we’ve been touched by Him, we can’t stay the same. We’re no longer running from purpose; we’re running to it. Paul said that he will take hold of what is in store and will press toward the mark, with the hope to tag what God has in store.
Apply:
Allow God to tag you with His love and purpose. Let us embrace the fact that we are chosen to make a difference; we were born to brighten someone’s day, made stronger than we can imagine, and most of all, because we are IT.
