That’s Good News
Scripture: Colossians 1:27-28 NLT
“For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory. So, we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.”
Testify:
I used to think I wasn’t equipped to tell anyone about God because I didn’t have the “package” to do so. I felt unequipped, and I didn’t think I had enough inside of me. I didn’t look, talk, or act the right way, nor did I know a lot of the Word of God at the time. All I knew was that He was real, God is good, and I had my own testimony of how He brought me through. I thought my “package” had to know more than I knew, so I thought, “Who am I to say anything?” But when you get filled with His Holy Spirit, and His glory reigns in your heart, you begin to quit caring about what you look like. You focus on the bigger picture: Him. You can’t help but talk about how He made a way in your life, and then… tag, you are it! You have to tell everybody that you know.
Edify:
In this scripture, Paul was talking about how God has given each one of us the responsibility to share the good news. So, as we sit, learn, and gain knowledge from His Holy Book, we have a responsibility to go out and share it with others, no matter who they are or where they are from. Everyone should learn about Jesus Christ, just as it happened for us. This is why the scripture specifies the Gentiles, because there was a time when they thought that God didn’t care for them. We already have everything we need to complete the job: our testimony, His Words, our relationship with Him, and His Holy Spirit. We have all that we need to go out, spread the gospel, and to tag someone else.
Apply:
Reflect and ask God if you’ve been tagging others about the good news that you know. If not, He wants you to start. Fear, comparison, and gatekeeping are no more. It’s time to share the good news of the Gospel.
