Jesus Jr.
Scripture: 1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your cares on him because he cares for you.
Testify:
For the longest time, I thought it was my job to fix everything and everyone. I carried people’s problems like they were mine own, trying to patch hearts, smooth over situations, and hold everything together. I didn’t realize how heavy it had gotten until I started to crack under the weight. It wasn’t just exhaustion; it was me trying to play God in areas He never told me to touch. Now, I’m learning to let go of that need to control. I’m discovering my own patterns my strengths, my weaknesses, and my limits. I’ve learned that surrender isn’t weakness it’s wisdom. It’s me saying, “Lord, I trust You to handle what I can’t.” I’m still here to guide, uplift, and cover those I love, but I’m no longer trying to carry what was never mine.
Edify:
This month’s theme, “Tag, You’re It,” is God’s reminder that we all have a role to play but not everyone’s role is to fix, rescue, or control. Sometimes “tag” means release. Sometimes it means rise. When we carry what God never assigned, we trade peace for pressure and purpose for burnout. The truth is: you can’t carry the world in your strength. You weren’t built to. Which is why the scripture says to Cast all of your cares on him because he cares for you. God didn’t tag you to crumble under the weight He tagged you to walk in power and authority. That means knowing when to pray, when to release, and when to let someone else rise. So now, I’m tagging others in. I’m saying, “Tag, you’re it now rise in your own power. Lean on God for yourself. Step into your assignment.” Because real love doesn’t mean doing everything for everyone; it means pushing people closer to God, not to you. We got to stop trying to be Jesus Jr.
Apply:
If you find yourself constantly fixing, rescuing, or holding things together, pause. Ask God, “Is this mine to carry, or Yours?” If it’s too heavy, it probably belongs to Him. Life really can be simple when we surrender and let His will lead the way. Today, release what’s not yours to carry and let God handle the weight. Teach your brothers and sisters how to do it to.
