Here Am I, Send Me
SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 6:8 KJV
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, “Here am l. Send Me!”
TESTIFY:
Tag, I'm it. Now that I've just tagged myself into writing this devotional, I can proceed without caution. I remember having associates that I thought I could depend on, until I realized when situations became difficult, they were nowhere to be found. The only time they would show up would be for their own gain. This is when I finally realized I needed to un-tag a few people from my inner circle. Denying a few people access to me was a healthy choice for my personal well-being, growth, and restoration. Honestly, navigating through that process was painful and wasn't easy, but it was well worth it. Tagging God made the pain and anger I was feeling more bearable to deal with.
Knowing and learning that Big Homie will always have the back of those who seek after Him is priceless. At times, we have to allow ourselves to be tagged in for someone else, because the same way that Big Homie can stand in the gap for us, we have to reciprocate that same action to someone else if He places that on our heart. When God tags us in on His behalf, we have no choice but to execute the assignment or deal with the repercussions from not being obedient.
EDIFY:
In this scripture, Isaiah and I had the same problem: someone blocking our view. The same way I had to un-tag some friends from my life, God took King Uzziah. It was then that Isaiah saw the Lord, and Isaiah volunteered to be tagged in. He took on the task without even knowing the assignment or how long the assignment would last—jumping in to do the work of the Lord. When an assignment is placed on your heart, it takes no effort. Isaiah also took on the task without expecting anything in return. So here I am, tagged in. Ready to go. Think about that for a minute: Are you ready to let some people go and tell the Lord, “Send me, I’ll go”?
APPLY:
We're all assigned to certain people in our lives. The thing is, everyone is not allowing themselves to be tagged into their assignment. It's time to open our eyes and raise our hands because, “Tag, we're it!” Now, let's get to work.
