Scripture: Luke 11:17
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.
Testify:
Have you ever played tug of war, where two different teams take opposite ends of a rope and pull in different directions until one pulls the other over the center line? Sometimes there’s a muddy puddle in the middle, so the losing team splashes to their loss. The way to win is clear: a team must work together in unison, applying all its efforts in the same direction. If a player caves or relaxes when are most needed, then the team will lose. Lately, I've experienced spiritual tug of war. In this war I either don’t know when to shut up, or when to speak up. I struggle with not allowing God to win the battle for me, I typically end up losing my footing and end up in the muddy puddle. How did I allowed myself to get into a mess. Me doubting the voice of God made me loss my footing.
Edify
In this chapter of Luke, we find a crowd accusing Jesus of casting out a demon by Satan's power. Jesus replied Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. Basically, Jesus was saying that it makes no sense if Satan were to cast out demons, he would be diminishing his own power. Jesus goes on to say that he drives out demons by the finger of God; he is united, teamed up, and tugging in the same direction with his Father in every action He undertakes. We need to be the same, teamed up tugging in the same direction as the father. Speaking the same language as the father so that we will not end up in the puddle. We need to be teamed up, having an ear to hear, not being so vocal that we can’t hear the directive that we are giving in our walk.
Apply
Remember to keep your footing, stay teamed up with God, unite with the Father, with every action you undertake. Even when the action is Shutting Up instead of Speaking Up.
