The Word of Your Testimony
Scripture: Revelations 12:11NLT
And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.
Testify:
It is extremely important to testify on God’s greatness, grace, and love. Somebody needs to hear how God kept you and given you peace in the midst of your storm. Sometimes God will allow you to go thru because he can trust you to stay 10 toes down without folding and give him glory. In the book of Job, Job said, “Thou he slay me, yet will I trust him”. Tell someone that the pain is only temporary and greater is their portion.
Edify:
We, as believers, have a duty and obligation to help strengthen the walk of our brothers and sisters by providing guidance, accountability, grace, and love. The Greek word for edify is “oikodomeo” (“to build"), this concept involves providing spiritual nourishment and encouragement through "speaking the truth in love" to promote unity and maturity in faith, rather than causing division and being judgmental. Edification is not about us per se, it’s about the church as a body and the question is, what are we doing to edify the body of Christ? Are we available to be used by him? Are we speaking life and showing love? The Scripture says that we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Edification is speaking the truth to help someone live a better life and how their lives be submitted to God, but this cannot be done in judgement, as God is the only one that can cause someone to make a true transformation.
Apply:
In this season of your life, how are you applying yourself to get to the next level? What are you doing to become the best version of “you” and who God intended you to be? In order to be better, we have to know better. One thing that we can apply to our spiritual walk is learning how to remain silent when you want to speak. There are times where God will put you in a position to observe and take notes without responding. Can God trust you to be wounded and silent? Then, when it’s time to speak up can you be that overcomer that the prophet John spoke of in this scripture?
